Accreditation colleges that applied in the national education system for the purpose of assessing higher education. Assessment was directed at the dual purpose of:

Informing the performance of universities to society
Suggests fostering measures to be implemented mainly by universities and the government, and community participation.
Rating recognition given by the government to universities based on results of accreditation of colleges conducted by BAN-PT, with accreditation which includes the accreditation agencies and accreditation.
