Structuring or designing energy efficient homes in any context is always expected to retain the natural resources and lifestyle of the user. It is caused by several potential footprint and lifestyle changes, especially in urban areas. Problems growing energy crisis on the urban environment. Increased housing needs and energy consumption by users demanding solutions that relate to the development of energy-efficient homes. Energy-efficient home is one of the strategies for awareness raising people’s energy through a house prototype for an easy and inexpensive in construction.
Universiti Teknologi Malaysia as one of the leading universities in Malaysia have successfully created a prototype for energy-efficient homes. Model energy house has gone through a series of lengthy research and testing will be done in the future energy performance. The experience and knowledge that have been formulated in the opportunity to spread widely disseminated through guest lectures on “Sustainable Architecture: Experience In The Design and Development of UTM Eco-Home”, by inviting one academician of the Department of Architecture Universiti Teknologi Malaysia, namely Prof. Madya Mohd Zin Kandar. Activities organized by the Laboratory of Science and Technology Building on December 8, 2016 was attended by the lecturer of the Department of Architecture of FT UB, as well as more than 80 students from the Department of Architecture of FT UB.
