Highlighting traditional dances from all around Indonesia, Architecture Department Engineering Faculty Universitas Brawijaya Held GESTUR, a Dimensional Design Exhibition held by class 2014. The event exhibit 16 art work representing 16 traditional dances across Nusantara. The artworks are both in 2D and 3D all done by the student class of 2014 completing their Dimensional Design Courses this semester. Taking the theme GESTUR the students should interpret the movement and poses of the dances to be visualized in 2D and 3D artwork.
According to the coordinator of exhibition, Theodora, this exhibition is the peak of 6 month of hard work for each student and the groups. The designing process has taking trial and error phases when students have to consult to the Lecturer and revise the work several time until getting the final form. “The process also includes the selection of finding the right material to represent the form that we create, it became more intriguing because we have to use recycle material” She said. “For the lecturer we can’t say enough of our gratitude to make this exhibition come to realization!”
The Architecture Dimensional Design Exhibition is an annual event held by the Department. This year, the exhibition was opened with a traditional dance and a speech by the Head of Architecture Department, Monday (19/01) and will be held for a whole week accompanied by live music performances. Getting a great review from local newspaper, Radar Malang, The exhibition is open for public and inviting all art enthusiasts in Malang to come and participate. (emis)
